• The EAT hold that the summary dismissal of a consultant surgeon was fair even though none of the series of actions leading up to his dismissal amounted to gross misconduct.
• Acas have published new guidance on religion and belief to help ensure employers comply with the law when it comes to managing staff that have a particular religion, belief or those that don’t hold any beliefs.
• A woman who complained of a racist and misogynistic culture in a Scottish government department claims she was taped to a chair and gagged by two male colleagues as a warning to keep quiet.
• The Minister for Disabled People has announced a new Tech Fund as part of Access to Work, offering employers significant savings on the cost of assistive technology.
