LAWorld Annual General Meeting in Lisbon

19th May 2026

Maninder, Raoul and Howard attended the LAWorld Annual General Meeting in Lisbon, joining colleagues from leading independent law firms across the globe.

As long-standing members of LAWorld, the AGM provides an important opportunity to share insights, strengthen relationships and explore the issues shaping our clients’ needs. This year’s discussions focused on global instability, the increasing complexity of cross-border work, and the growing role of AI in the legal sector.

Maninder spoke on current geopolitical uncertainty, highlighting how borders are increasingly defined by ongoing crisis. He explored the impact on the UK and mass migration, with a particular focus on the legal challenges these immigration barriers present to both clients and advisers.

The AGM also marked Raoul’s final year as Chair of LAWorld’s NextGen group, stepping down after a four-year term. During the conference, he led a panel on effective communication in cross-border work and contributed to a session on AI adoption in legal practice.

Howard was a first time AGM Attendee. Based on his prior experience he gave a short presentation ,based on his prior network experience, as part of a ‘Member Innovation and Marketing Success’ session, about how members can get more from their membership by increased engagement not only with members but also with network HQ and particularly within their own firms in order to create as many peer to peer/expertise relationships as possible with other members.

Bringing together over 130 delegates from 70 firms across more than 100 business centres, the AGM reinforced the strength and reach of the LAWorld network.

The SMB team returned to London energised by the depth of these relationships and the tangible value they bring — enabling us to deliver seamless, high-quality cross-border advice to our clients worldwide.
