SMB congratulates client, Dare Pictures, on winning Best Emerging Indie at this year’s Broadcast Awards.
This great achievement marks the second year running in which an SMB client has won this prestigious award, with client Curious Films winning it last year.
An acronym for diversity, allyship, representation and empowerment, Dare Pictures remains one of the relatively few black-led indies across the UK and, in the three years following its formation, it has strongly established its presence on both domestic and international television markets.
Speaking about the award, film and tv Partner Simon Goldberg, said:
“We are over the moon for our client Dare Pictures and its founder Derren Lawford, on their recognition for this prestigious award. We are also delighted that this marks the second year running in which an SMB client has won this award, underlining SMB’s commitment to supporting the most promising production companies of the future.”
On 14 March, SMB was instructed by former postmaster, Lee Castleton OBE, to issue proceedings in the High Court against the Post Office and Fujitsu.
