SMB acted for Vice Studios in its purchase of drama production company Cuba Pictures from agency Curtis Brown.
Cuba is a leading drama producer, with the London-based company’s series including McMafia, Jonathan Strange, and Mr Norrell and the Andrew Garfield movie ‘Boy A’.
The SMB team was led by Partner and co-head of Media, Simon Goldberg, and Senior Associate from the corporate team, Lucy Newman.
Speaking about the deal, Simon said: “SMB has done a lot of work for the Vice group over the years, and it’s great that we were able to get help the client with relaunching its television brand in the UK. The collaboration should be a fruitful one with Vice well placed to exploit new and existing IP in Cuba Pictures.”
