SMB Partners with The BRIT School

29th April 2026

We are delighted to announce SMB’s new partnership with The BRIT School – through financial support, in-kind activity and pro bono legal advice for the School’s students and alumni.

Founded in 1991, The BRIT School is a state secondary school, completely free to attend, and trains nearly 1,500 14-19 year olds every year to a professional standard in the creative and performing arts. There is truly something special about The BRIT School and it nurtures talent like no other – we have all seen the incredible success of The BRIT School alumni like Adele, Amy Winehouse, RAYE, Olivia Dean, Lola Young and Jessie J, among many others. But beyond that extraordinary success, what stands out is the School’s wider impact and commitment to opportunity and diversity.

What many do not realise is that, whilst the BRIT School receives funding like any other state school in this country, and, Government funding just isn’t enough. Due to the School’s industry-standard facilities and the exceptional teaching and pastoral care, it needs to raise over £3m annually on top of government funding just to keep the school running.

Since the early 1970s, the SMB Music team has worked alongside clients across the music industry, supporting talent, businesses and entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey. We believe passionately in the strength, diversity and global importance of British culture and creativity. The UK’s creative industries are one of this country’s great success stories, but its future depends on talented young people having the opportunity, support and confidence to thrive. That is why our partnership with The BRIT School feels so meaningful.

The BRIT School’s commitment to opportunity based on talent rather than privilege, its outstanding teaching and pastoral care and its role in nurturing creative excellence from all backgrounds is as remarkable as the school’s massive impact on British culture in the 35 years since it opened its doors. We are honoured to support The BRIT School and to play just a small part in the future of British creativity.
