Craig is a Partner in our Dispute Resolution department. He is experienced in a wide range of commercial disputes, acting for both corporate and individual clients including contractual and shareholder/director disputes, professional negligence, fraud and asset tracing and insolvency.

A significant part of Craig’s practice involves contentious general property and landlord and tenant matters for clients, including major property owning and managing companies, developers, funds and investors.

Craig’s approach to dispute resolution is to understand from the outset the client’s objectives, the resources available , and then to roll up his sleeves and work closely with the client to achieve the best result.

Craig spent his early career acting for Granada Television’s World in Action investigative current affairs programme, defending a number of high-profile libel claims. Since then, he has been involved in a multitude of substantial domestic and international disputes, as well as investigations and significant cases, such as:

  • HSBC Ltd v 5th Avenue Partners Ltd – acting for international investors against a major bank in relation to a $50 million fraud, involving issues of liability in constructive trust and duty of care.
  • Page v Combined Shipping and Trading Co. Ltd – acting in the first Court of Appeal case relating to the interpretation of the Commercial Agents Regulations.
  • Nahum v Royal Holloway & Bedford New College – acting for a large charitable institution in relation to agency commission claims brought by a fine art dealer in connection with the purchase of 3 world famous paintings.

Craig is a member of the Property Litigation Association and the London Solicitors Litigation Association.
