Claire is an associate in the Technology, Corporate & Commercial teams, specialising in advising businesses on commercial contracts, including drafting, negotiation and strategic advisory.
In particular, Claire specialises in advising businesses on data protection compliance and regulatory issues, including dealing with enforcement action taken by the ICO and how to protect the rights of data subjects by complying with any requests made by such individuals. She also advises on legal and contractual issues arising from AI adoption and implementation, and on how to protect and monetise intellectual property.
Her clients range from founder-led start-ups to listed multinational companies, primarily in the digital media and technology sectors.
Before joining Simons Muirhead Burton, Claire qualified as a Secondary Education Teacher, teaching English and Law in Birmingham. She also worked as a Technology Consulting Analyst with Communications, Media and Technology clients, implementing technology solutions to drive business value.
