Neil Jones

Neil joined SMB as a Partner in the corporate team in November 2024. Neil has extensive experience advising on venture capital funding rounds, corporate restructurings, acquisitions and exits, share option schemes and board governance matters.

Neil works with SMB’s commercial and employment teams on a range of matters including:

• Intellectual property and brand protection, data protection, trade mark registration;
• AI consultations;
• Commercial contracts, licensing and supplier agreements; and
• Employment contracts.

As a corporate tech lawyer, Neil represents tech companies and helps them achieve their investment goals. Neil is passionate about the work that he does and has a particular focus on the fin tech, AI, music tech, ed tech, sports tech and health tech sectors.

Neil also works with a range of venture capital funds and investors on their investments into such companies.

Neil qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and worked in a venture capital boutique and an international law firm prior to joining SMB. Neil also worked in two tech companies in various commercial and legal roles which included developing partnerships and building new business.

Neil is recommended in the Legal 500 rankings for venture capital.
