Congratulations to SMB client, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (BIJ), who has received a grant of £800,000 over two years from global philanthropic organisation, Luminate. BIJ will use the grant to expand their management team, allowing them to give more support to their reporters, work with more freelancers and undertake more collaborative projects.
BIJ is an online publisher who specialises in using digital tools to probe official open data sources. Their work has appeared in all major UK publications and their not-for-profit model has enabled key international topics including drone warfare in conflict zones or the failure of antibiotics to be reported through long-term campaigning.
This great achievement marks the second year running in which an SMB client has won this prestigious award, with client Curious Films winning it last year.
