To celebrate International Women’s Day this year, Partner Razwana Akram and Associate Rachelle Senghor attended a panel event at the Stratford Hotel hosted by The ConveHERsation Network (TCN) on ‘Breaking The Bias’.
The TCN is an Empowerment Group whose mission is “to Enlighten, Encourage, and Edify Women from all Walks of Life”. In their words, it “isn’t just about bringing women & non-binary people together, it’s about having a platform that promotes transparency, honesty, and truth, a platform that encourages growth and that challenges any pre-existing thoughts that may limit you.”
The theme of the panel, and International Women’s Day 2022, is “Breaking The Bias” and the diverse line-up of hosts and speakers explored a range of topics including stereotypes, discrimination, diversity, and inclusion.
It was great to see Rachelle and Razwana getting involved in the day’s activities, with Razwana presenting a business idea for the speed networking segment to the entire event, which she did fantastically.
One of the sponsors of the event was GYM GOOSE (Giving Your Money Goes to Outstanding Organisations Saving Everybody) – a fitness clothing company set up by the mother of the late YouTube star Nicole Thea, who had endured the trauma of losing her father and daughter within 11 days. She channelled her energy into setting up this brand and foundation in their memory, and you can see Razwana and Rachelle at her stand in this photo. This is just one example of the incredible women who were part of this event.
It was a great night, surrounded by a group of fantastic women and men supporting, uplifting, and empowering one another.
