In this edition:
• An ET awards £47,000 to a transgender employee who suffered severe discrimination and harassment and recommends that a policy be adopted and communicated on the treatment of transgender staff.
• An employee who was dismissed for attending a gin festival ‘to get away from it all’ while off sick with stress following the death of three friends has been awarded nearly £30,000 for unfair dismissal.
• The Mayor of London has published data on the pay gap affecting BAME employees within the Greater London Authority Group, making it among the first employers in the country to do so.
• The Minister for Women and Equalities has announced a £1.5 million fund which will offer grants to projects which help people to return to work in the private sector.
