• The EAT hold that an employer treated a disabled employee unfavourably because of something arising in consequence of her disability when it issued her with a 12-month written warning for sickness absence.

• Acas has published new online guidance on overtime which relates to any additional hours worked over and above a worker’s fixed, contractual working hours.

• A report by Canada Life based on latest ONS employment figures reveals that 23 million workers say they will have to work past state pension age and half of UK employees will be older than 70 before they retire.

• The Cabinet Office has issued a call for evidence on supporting ex-Offenders on their path to employment as research shows that having a job can significantly reduce someone’s chances of re offending.
