• The EAT holds that a disabled employee who had asthma had failed to establish that working in an open plan office in which she could not control the ambient temperature herself, placed her at a substantial disadvantage.
• Leigh Day has lodged claims with Acas for female staff in Morrisons stores who believe they are being paid less than men in the distribution centres for work of equal value.
• The Institute of Business Ethics’ employee survey has revealed that 67% of those who witnessed misconduct at work raised concerns, but 33% decided not to speak up for fear of jeopardising their job.
• The Time Off for Public Duties Order 2018 comes into force on 1 October 2018 to grant unpaid time off work to four groups of volunteers in the criminal justice system.
