The Court of Appeal has today ruled in favour of SMB client, Oscar-nominated film director Michael Radford, in a case focusing on the entitlement of solicitors and barristers to claim payment of fees where retainer documentation has been inadequately drawn up by them. The case concerned the assessment of very substantial costs claimed against Mr Radford, and the ruling confirms that the solicitors and barrister in question will receive only a small part of the sums claimed.
Partners and joint heads of the Music Department, Richard Baskind and Alasdair George, were featured, alongside Anthony Orum, who was promoted to partner in May last year.
