In a unique case, Channel 4 faced a production order claim from the Met Police for unused footage from “Brits Battling ISIS”, a Dispatches documentary first broadcast in 2015.
SMB’s Media specialists represented Channel 4 and resisted the production order with Jonathan Caplan QC and Ben Silverstone. The case against the Defendant in the criminal proceedings collapsed today at the Old Bailey and, as a result, the case against Channel 4 was disposed of in Channel 4’s favour. This has been widely reported today, including in the Guardian and the Mirror.
