On Thursday evening, the CSR hosted SMB’s inaugural charity poker tournament in aid of our charity of the year, Centrepoint. The tournament began with 24 players of varying experience, from complete novices to relevant experts. The winner finally emerged after some 5 ½ hours of play and some fast and loose betting. Congratulations to James for taking the spoils. More importantly though, the evening raised over £1,000 for Centrepoint.
The Birmingham County Court has today handed down judgment in favour of long standing SMB client, Mohammed Arif, a veteran Cabinet Member and former Conservative Councillor for St Matthew’s, concluding proceedings relating to his discrimination claim against officers of the former Walsall Conservative Federation (now the Walsall and Bloxwich Association).
