Lupus Films’ new animated feature film, ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’, won three awards for Best Feature, the Writers Award for Frank Cottrell-Boyce and Best Original Music for composer Stuart Hancock. The Film (directed by Neil Boyle and Kirk Hendry) is based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, which follows a young boy and his dog stranded on a remote island, discovering the presence of Kensuke, an elderly Japanese man with orangutan companions. As invaders threaten, the unlikely trio must overcome suspicion and join forces to protect their island home. The voice cast includes Cillian Murphy, Sally Hawkins and Ken Watanabe. Nick was also credited as an executive producer on the Film.
The fourth award was granted to Lupus Films (shared with Iain Gardner’s A Bear Called Wojtek) for Best Long Form for “Mog’s Christmas” based on the classic picture book by Judith Kerr which was commissioned by Channel 4 and directed by Robin Shaw.
Speaking on the film’s Lupus Films’ success, Partner Nick Miller said: “Congratulations to our client, Lupus Films, for its feature film “Kensuke’s Kingdom” winning 3 awards and its TV special “Mog’s Christmas” winning 1 award, last night at the British Animation Awards.
