Partner and co-head of SMB’s Media department, Simon Goldberg, featured on Nine News Australia yesterday.
Simon was called upon to discuss the current case, which is headline news down under, where Australian captain and Chelsea WFC player, Sam Kerr, has been accused of racially aggravated harassment of a police officer in London.
He discussed contractual and regulatory issues under English law on Australian prime time television, with 9 News attracting an average viewership of 558,000 people per day.
Speaking about his appearance Simon said: “In Australia, they really don’t understand what all the fuss is about. But the racial aspect, and the potential issues that the player has both as regards her club Chelsea and her sponsors including Nike, make this real news and an important story”.
