Simons Muirhead Burton is proud to have advised on the acquisition of the sequel and television rights to the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. Partner and Co-Head of our Film & TV team, Nick Miller, represented newly launched production company Bridge7, in the high-profile deal with U.K.-based Celador International.
Slumdog Millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle, became a global sensation upon its release in 2008, earning eight Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, and seven BAFTAs, including Best Film.
The sequel will be produced Bridge7, a production company founded by former Netflix executive Swati Shetty and former CAA agent Grant Kessman.
