Simons Muirhead Burton advised Blumhouse Productions, the production company behind the hugely successful Get Out (2017) and Split (2016), on its new film. Get Out won critical acclaim across the board and scooped the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay (2017) among many other accolades.
Blumhouse’s latest picture, You Should Have Left, will be adapted for screen and directed by David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Inferno) and is based on internationally best-selling author Daniel Kehlmann’s supernatural thriller of the same name. The film will star Kevin Bacon, Amanda Seyfried, and Games of Thrones’ Nathalie Emmanuel.
SMB advised on all aspects of the financing and production for the film. Film partners Razwana Akram and Simon Goldberg headed the SMB team, assisted by senior associates James Greenslade and Blaise Gaymer.

Partners and joint heads of the Music Department, Richard Baskind and Alasdair George, were featured, alongside Anthony Orum, who was promoted to partner in May last year.
