Simons Muirhead Burton is delighted to announce that we have raised an outstanding £33,322 for our Charity of the Year 2024, The Motor Neurone Disease Association (“MNDA”).
Over the past year our staff have engaged in a plethora of fundraising activities, from sip and paints and charity bake sales, to cocktail classes and raffles, to raise vital funds for the MNDA.
Our biggest push came in September, when our dedicated team raised over £21,000 by completing the daunting 24 Peaks Challenge.
The arduous hike spanned 50 km through the Lake District, taking our team to the top of several of the highest peaks in the country such as Scafell Pike and Helvellyn, with the SMB team trekking for around 12 hours each day.
Speaking on the successful year of fundraising, Senior Associate and chair of SMB’s CSR Committee, John Harrington, said: “Everyone at SMB is proud to have contributed to and achieved such a brilliant total for the MNDA. Thanks again to everyone, internally and externally, who have donated throughout the year. Many at the firm have first-hand experience of the superb work the MNDA do and it is brilliant to see the culmination of all our hard work.”
This great achievement marks the second year running in which an SMB client has won this prestigious award, with client Curious Films winning it last year.
