SMB has advised client Derren Lawford and his company DARE Pictures in an exciting new deal which saw non-scripted production giant, Asylum Entertainment Group, acquire a shareholding in DARE – replacing DARE’s original investor, Rosegown.
The SMB team was led by Joint Head of the Media Team, Simon Goldberg, who was assisted by Senior Associate Lucy Newman, and corporate juniors Yasma Qirreh and Molly Nathan. The team was supported by employment associate, Chichi Afunugo.
DARE (which stands for diversity, allyship, representation and empowerment) was launched in 2021 by Derren Lawford and has fast built a great reputation and has attracted both award-winning and emerging talent from across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and North America. The partnership with AEG is a hugely exciting moment for DARE, offering an excellent opportunity to grow and evolve the business.
Partners and joint heads of the Music Department, Richard Baskind and Alasdair George, were featured, alongside Anthony Orum, who was promoted to partner in May last year.
