Our client, Keshet International UK, a global production and distribution media group, in a deal with BBC Worldwide, has acquired a majority stake in Greenbird Media, a media accelerator with an impressive roster of Emmy Award winning UK production companies including Tuesday’s Child and Crackit Productions.
The deal sees Keshet acquire BBC Worldwide’s shareholding in Greenbird and become the global distribution partner to the production companies Greenbird supports. This is Keshet’s largest international acquisition to date and marks Keshet’s breakthrough as a major player in UK television.
The transaction was led by partners Simon Goldberg, Peter Weiss and Neal Hodges with support from senior associate Blaise Gaymer in the Media, Corporate, Commercial and Finance teams, and partner Ewan Keen from the Employment team.
We would like to wish our client and Greenbird every success on their new venture together.
Sammy Nourmand, Keshet’s Managing Director UK & West Europe:
“The team at SMB went above and beyond the call of duty to get us across the line. The transaction was complex, and SMB demonstrated the patience, professionalism & pastoral care needed throughout the process, holding our hands every step of the way.”
